Would A Radiology Degree Allow Someone To Be A Sonographer?

My sister is interested in pursuing a career in sonography, and from what we were reading, it looks like radiologists often operate sonogram equipment. If she earned a degree in radiology, could she become a sonographer?
Where can I find more information on how to become a sonographer?

  1. RadTech - BAS RT(R)(ARRT) says:

There isn’t really a degree in “radiology” – it would be radiologic technology or radiography. Radiologists are doctors. Some sonography programs require that you be a radiologic technologist first, some don’t. You can find accredited sonography programs here: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited…http://www.caahep.org/Content.aspx?ID=23
