Radiology, College Help?

I would like to become a Radiologist, X-rays and such. And I know that I can get a degree that is designed for this career. i can also get the job training from a hospital of Trade/Tech school which is usually a 2 year program. Also the school i would like to go to doesnt offer the degree designed for radiology because its a small private school, but it does have a very strong biology program.

So my question is, if i go to my prefered school and get a degree in biology, would i get enough information to then go to a trade/tech school or a hospital to get my training for radiology.
Because i am worried that the Biology degree would be to general and not focused enough on the human body.
And if you are a Radiologist what did you do for education? and do you think my idea will work?

I need help finding information about radiology programs in Texas?

I need to know how long of a wait it is to get into a program in radiology in Texas. In Arizona it’s a 3 year long wait to be considered and if they don’t accept you then you are guaranteed a spot the next time. In Colorado it’s a 2 year long wait to get into the school. Does anybody know anything about how long of a wait it is in Texas? Please please help me find this out. Thanks guys!

Hi doctors can you help me with my mri of my neck?

Here is the radiology report. The doctor just called and said my brain mri came back negative and when I asked about my neck they said the doctor hasnt commented about it yet. But I have the report and here it is.
Let me know what you think

MRI OF THE CERVICAL SPINE

HISTORY: Neck pain after head trauma.

FINDINGS: Multisequential, multiplanar MRI imaging of the cervical spine was performed without contrast. There are no comparison studies. The craniocervical junction is within normal limits. The cervical spinal cord is normal in caliber and signal intensity without evidence of masses or syrinx formation. The cervical vertebral bodies are demonstrate no abnormal marrow signal. Alignment is within normal limits. There is no significant disc space narrowing. There are no disc bulges or herniations. No significant central canal or neuroforaminal stenosis is produced. There are no significant endplate or facet degenerative changes. There are no prevertebral soft tissue swelling or paraspinal fluid collections.

IMPRESSION:
1. Unremarkable MRI of the cervical spine.
If it is normal then I wonder why the still dont wont tell me the results since they called to tell me my brain mri was normal. They said the doctor still has the neck results at this time. Interesting!

Can someone help me solve this case?allied heatlh?

Can someone help me solve this case? its a allied health question?
CASE #1
The patient is complaining of epigastric pain and denies a history of a gastric ulcer. She has a scar in the umbilical region from a laparotomy for acute hypogastric pain from an ectopic pregnancy last year. On examination there is some questionable hepatomegaly with tenderness in that area; however, a CBC shows a normal erythrocyte count with a slight elevation of the leukocyte count, an essentially normal differential, and adequate thrombocytes. An abnormal sonogram and x-rays, with radiology consult, will be done to rule out cholelithiasis.

QUESTIONS:
1.T F The patient has a stomach ulcer.

2. T F The patient’s liver may be enlarged.

3. T F The pain before her laparotomy was sudden and severe.

4.T F A laparotomy means cutting into the stomach.

Help Getting Into Northwestern or UIC in Illinois (medical career)?

Hello everyone.

I am a Junior in High School right now, and I am very determined to study for an M.D. I am most looking at Radiology, Plastic Surgery, and Neurology, but right now that doesn’t matter…

I know that medical school is extremely competitive and selective. I was foreign born in a third world country and lived here for 12 years. My first two years of high school were mediocre with respect to my GPA because I slacked off too much. This year I am buckling down and focusing, and with first semester done with I have made an enormous improvement in grades, ranking in the top 10%.

So I have some questions regarding High School and College admissions:

I am only in two AP classes now: AP Latin Literature and AP US History. For my senior year I want to take all AP, as I am confident in my abilities. For my science class, however, I have the choice of AP Biology, AP Chemistry, or both. I am contemplating on taking both of them, but I was rather weak in my sophomore Introductory Chemistry class averaging a B in it. Would taking AP Chemistry be a mistake for me? Right now I am in a Physics class, so next year I will not have been exposed to any chemistry at all for a year.

My first pick University would be either Northwestern or UIC, but I don’t even know if I can get into there, and I am starting to doubt it. I suppose I could get into Loyola or Benedictine (which is close to me) but I want to aim higher.

Are there better Universities in Illinois that I can look into or have a better chance of getting into? Any out of state ones?

If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

I need help deciding on a career that will help people with cancer?

I am currently a high school senior. I received a 4.0 for freshman and sophomore year. a 4.4 for junior year-A in AP Spanish, B in AP chem, A in US history honors, and B in Math analysis honors, A in regular english, and A in Chamber Choir. I started high school two weeks ago and I realized im so behind compared to the rest of the seniors who are already making their lists for colleges. I havent even started.

People always ask me what I want do i want major in/what do i want to be. I could never answer because I had no clue what i wanted to do in life. So recently, my dad past away due to liver cancer. the event seriously changed my life and made me realize that I want to do something that will help cancer patients.

I thought about oncologist or radiologist but that would require 4 yrs college + 4 yrs med school + residency which would take a really long time. Im worried that I won’t be able to handle med school because I heard its very challenging. Im scared of needles/blood/not sure if i can handle amputations, surgeries, and dead bodies because I heard you have to go through all the regular doctor training before specializing in lets say radiology. Im also worried that if i become a radiologist or oncologist, i wont have enough time with my kids or husband when i have a family.

What careers would be good for me(i really want to help out people with cancer)? if so, what should i major in and what college is the best to go to?
