If An Mri Shows That Everythings Normal In The Brain Can Something Still Be Wrong?
For a few weeks now I’ve been complaining of severe migraines, severe dizzy spells, sensitivity to light, nausea, but no vomitting everyday. I had a CAT Scan and MRI done and they both showed normal activity in the brain. But just because a CAT Scan and MRI show nothing doesn’t mean that there isn’t something wrong right? I mean there must be a reason why I’m feeling this way right?
Migraines are caused by how the brain functions, not by physical defects. There is some evidence that a migraine is really a form of a seizure. Medicines such as Imitrex and Maxalt are especially geared towards migraine pain.
CAT scans and MRI’s generally rule out the more serious problems – such as tumours, lesions, growths, internal bleeding, erratic brain signals, etc. If the scans were clear, then you can be quite certain that you don’t have any of these (although it’s possible for tiny lesions to be missed).
I’m guessing you’ve had a blood test?
There are lots of things it could be. It does sound more likely a neurological problem though. Erm.
Are you eating well?
Could be carbon monoxide poisoning. Do you live alone? What’s your weight like? Get a carbon monoxide detector (they’re very cheap).
How about your heart, have they checked that? (Problems with oxygen flow could possibly explain it). An EKG might be wise.
